All about me and my family
Last week we learned that:
Families are different but they still love and care for each other.
We learned that everyone in the family plays an important role in life.
We named different family members and the person’s role (i.e. mother, father, grandma, sister, brother, etc.)
Siblings means brothers and sisters
We discussed birth order (oldest, middle, youngest child)
We listen to stories about families
Engaged in theme-related activities
Mi familia means my family in Spanish
We discussed ways we can help at home based on the lessons we have practiced in school including (folding towels, sweeping, cleaning spills, washing our own dishes, putting toys away, cleaning after ourselves, putting clothes in hamper and such.
We had opportunities to learn more about families...
Sharing this awesome Montessori moment...
We are getting ready to go to our playground for recess.
Mirabel: "I don't know how to put my jacket on" Me: "Do you remember the lesson I gave you yesterday?, ("the jacket flip")
Mirabel: student: Yes
Me: Ok, why don't you give it a try?

Me: Remember you practiced a lot with the zipper dressing frame? You should try to zip your jacket!
Mirabel:OK

Our kiddos are very capable and self-sufficient. Please continue to support their independence by providing them with opportunities to help around the house. It will help them feel a sense of accomplishment and boost their self-confidence!
