I found this post in the draft folder :o(
End of February and first week of March 2021
Finally I was able to update our class blog! Thank you for your patience! I still haven't figured out what is the problem uploading photos so I had to text pictures, download, upload ( I am sure there's an easier way!) but it was totally worth it! Enjoy the photos :O)
Our first group project! Kind hearts, helpful hands!
During our last week of February we discussed ways we show respect and kindness towards others. We also discussed ways we show respect and kindness for our bodies.. We discussed healthy habits and the importance of "listening" to our bodies (rest when you are tired, eat when you are hungry etc.) We reviewed previously learned concepts relating to our 5 senses, body parts, internal organs and their functions.
We learned about different parts of a tooth, dental care/cavities and how to properly care for our teeth. We also went on a virtual field trip to the dentist office!
Of course we celebrated Read Across America during the first week of March. We listened to many Dr. Seuss stories and engaged in many theme-related activities. Please note, in the past days there has been a lot said about the origins of Dr. Seuss and ideologies behind his stories. It is important to note that most of the stories we read are reality-based but occasionally we listen to Dr. Seuss because of his frequent use of rhymes nothing more. If anyone has questions or concerns please reach out as soon as possible.
We continue to work on our progress and practice our individual lessons every day!
Please remember, photos posted are intended to share with you our daily happenings.
I kindly ask that you refrain from making comparisons, as our little program was designed to include children of various ages, developments and abilities. Our children are also encouraged to work at their own pace. It is my goal to meet each child where they are and help them achieve their fullest potential. Please remember they are all exploring, learning, playing while following their own little paths. Please rest assured that each and every one of our kiddos are making great strides. They are growing physically, cognitively, emotionally and socially!
We ended our week by celebrating with yummy cupcakes!
