During this week, we engaged in a science pumpkin exploration activity that included making predictions and verifying the length, width, how many lines, how many seeds. Of course we had to find out if the pumpkin would sink or float!

We had opportunities to learn more about pumpkins. We dissected a pumpkin to examine the internal and external parts of the pumpkin including the rind, the strands, seeds, flesh and the pulp.

We also..

  • Learned fun facts about spiders (arachnids)

  • Painted pumpkins (still life)

  • Made Thumb-print spiders

  • Went on a virtual field trip to visit a pumpkin patch.

  • Tasted roasted pumpkin seeds!

  • Engaged in different pumpkin and non-pumpkin activities

  • Received whole group, partner and individual lessons

  • Listened to many  Halloween/pumpkin/fall stories and listen to songs
