Orientation period help set the tone for the entire school year. During the orientation period, our students learn and review important skills that will help them become independent and successful. Returning students benefit greatly as children tend to forget procedures during the summer.

Here's a list of some of the things we learned/practiced.

  • Arrival and dismissal procedures

  • Safety rules

  • Grace and courtesy words

  • Navigating the learning environment choosing activities, carrying materials safely and putting materials back where they belong.

  • Carrying, unrolling and rolling rugs

  • Carrying and using school supplies appropriately

  • Setting up and cleaning up after snack time

  • Inviting friends to play

  • Learning how to share and take turns

  • Playground safety

  • We also listened to stories, sang songs and played games together!

    We had a successful orientation!

Thank you all for your support throughout this process. I understand it is not the most convenient but the benefits are well worth it.

    Enjoy the photos!
